As a Sweetself online content manager may be engaged in a variety of different web projects including online campaigns and yearly content refreshes.
Responsibilities include:
- Writing and developing content and media to use across websites
- Using a content management system (CMS) to edit or update information on existing websites
- Collaborate with your web editing team and assign content tasks to different team members
- Working closely with design, digital marketing and SEO/PPC teams to develop content, strategies and styles
- Generating a variety of statistical reports for the team, line managers and upper management
- Analyze web statistics using Google Analytics
- Maintain a consistent look, feel and tone across all web platforms
- Proofread and sign off copy to use on website
- Develop link building/gathering strategies to increase overall traffic
- Integrate social media into the website and update web blog
- Liaise with social media team to share content across Facebook, Twitter and more…
An online content manager may assign some of these duties to other team members depending on the size of the team.
Skills and Qualities
- Understanding of CMS and website infrastructure
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Experience with Adobe Products such as Photoshop
- Understanding of Google Analytics or similar web analysis software
- SEO, PPC and PageRank Knowledge
- Strong organizational and management skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of copyright and other legal issues
